Environment and Recycling

Third grade is all about the environment!  The students and teachers keep the Union Academy lower campus clean by picking up trash and recycling paper.  The third grade teachers and students are credited for their hard work at picking up our recycleable paper and earning a monetary award for Union Academy via a contest through the City of Monroe.

The third graders will learn about recycling when we visit the recycling center in Charlotte.  They will also visit The Blue Planet Water Symposium and learn about water and all its works.  We will plant trees at a Habitat for Humanity site and support the aluminum can recycling project for Habitat for Humanity
